About

Acton-Boxborough Friends of Music is a non-profit organization. It is an organization made up of parents of students in band, orchestra, color guard, and chorus dedicated to the support of all AB music programs. Members help in many ways, including hauling equipment, providing snacks, and chaperoning at performances, competitions, and parades.

All donations to the Acton-Boxborough Friends of Music are tax deductible, as defined by Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Staffed by volunteers, 100% of our funding is used to support the music programs in the Acton-Boxborough school system by facilitating better student-parent-teacher communications, improving community relations, and providing financial assistance for supplies, event transportation, uniforms, and other expenses. At the end of each school year, the Friends of Music provides scholarships to a select number of college-bound students. The students we support are enthusiastic musicians and singers who take great pride in their roles in these groups and benefit socially from the camaraderie that naturally forms from participation in a team environment of peers with similar interests.
